KRC SlowPokes Winter Running Series

• Post Race: Surprise Giveaways and an impromptu social gathering at Bagel Tyme.

KRC Recognizes that many people are not Elite Runners. Why not Start 2010 by joining the less than elite runners in a series of fun races that incrementally improve your race times and prepare you for the Spring Season. On Saturday January 23rd, 2010 at 9 AM the KRC will hold the first in a series of fun runs on our OK 5K course.

What is the SlowPokes Winter Running Series?
First, all are welcome – including dogs, baby carriages, kids, run/walkers, runners and friends of club members considering joining the club. We’ll all start off at a slow pace of not more than 12 minute miles, (around 38 minutes for the 5K course), and incrementally speed up over the course of the winter series and finish in April at not faster than 9 minute miles, (around 28 minutes for the 5k course). Each race will have a fun theme, a lead runner to set the pace, water or a drink at the ½ and ¾ way marks and we’ll always finish with some camaraderie at bagel tyme. The schedule of races follows:

• It's a unique 5k.
• It's 100% guaranteed fun.

We encourage all the runners to head over to the Bagel Tyme afterwards for a warm dry place to hang out and grab a hot beverage and socialize.
